Cleveland Steelers are delighted to announce that 7-foot centre Theo Turner will return to the club for the 2026/27 National Basketball League season.

After playing an important role in the Steelers' inaugural National League campaign, Turner's return provides another major boost to a squad determined to build on last season's success. His size, defensive presence and ability to control the paint made him one of the most influential players on the roster, and his re-signing represents another statement of intent as the club prepares for the new campaign.

Standing at 7 feet tall, Turner gives the Steelers a genuine inside presence on both ends of the floor. His shot-blocking ability, rebounding and physicality make him a difficult matchup for any opponent, while his experience and leadership continue to be invaluable within a squad that combines established National League talent with some of the region's most promising local players.

Head Coach Thomas Robinson believes Theo's return is another significant step in strengthening the roster.

"Having Theo back is massive for us. Everyone knows what he brings physically, but it's his professionalism and team-first attitude that make him such an important part of this group. We built a great relationship last season, and having someone of Theo's calibre commit to running it back says a lot about what we're building here in Cleveland.

Last season showed what this group is capable of despite the challenges we faced. This year we've retained the core of that squad while adding further quality, and Theo is a huge part of what we're looking to achieve. We're excited to see him back in a Steelers jersey."

Theo is equally excited to return for another season in black and orange.

"Really excited and looking forward to the season. Last season we did great with what we had, but this season it's time to turn it up and try to win everything. I have a great relationship with the coach and players on the team and I'm excited to run it back."

The Steelers have enjoyed an excellent start to their off-season recruitment, with a strong core of returning players committing to the club alongside several exciting new additions. Turner's return adds further continuity to a group that has already developed excellent chemistry and shares a common ambition of competing for honours throughout the 2026/27 campaign.

Supporters can look forward to seeing Theo back in action when the Steelers return to the court later this summer as preparations continue for another exciting National Basketball League season.
