One of the most experienced players in the squad, Colmer played a vital role in the Steelers' inaugural NBL campaign, providing leadership, composure and a wealth of basketball knowledge both on and off the court. As captain, he helped guide the team through its first season at national league level and was instrumental in establishing the culture and standards that continue to drive the club forward.

A respected figure throughout North East basketball, Colmer's experience and commitment to the game have made him a key part of the Steelers project since day one. His return provides another major boost as the club looks to build on the foundations laid during a successful debut campaign.

When asked about returning for another season, Colmer said:

"I really enjoyed being back playing National League basketball last year especially after not playing at that level for such a long time. So returning for another season wasn't a hard decision to make.

Personally, last season, I didn't just want to find out if I could still play at this level but also wanted to help establish the club as a National League team.

This year I just want to help the team develop and cement the club as a National League club that will compete for years to come."

Head Coach and Player-Coach Thomas Robinson welcomed the news, stating:

"Carl's impact goes far beyond what people see on game day. His leadership, professionalism and experience have been invaluable to our players and staff. As captain, he sets the standard every day and we're delighted to have him back for another season."

With another key piece of the roster now confirmed, excitement continues to build ahead of the Steelers' second season in the National Basketball League as the club looks to continue its growth both on and off the court.
